CardioDetect ®

New, very rapid cardiac marker of Acute Myocardial Infarction

The traditional markers Troponin T, Troponin I, and CK-MB do not offer diagnostic safety until about 3-4 hours post myocardial infarction. In contrast, heart-specific Fatty Acid-Binding Protein (h-FABP) can be detected much as early as 20 minutes following AMI.

CardioDetect®  provides a qualitative immunological rapid test for the determination of heart-specific Fatty Acid-Binding Protein (h-FABP).

The marker h-FABP is almost exclusively present in the cardiac tissue. Therefore, it shows a very high sensitivity and specificity.

The CE marked CardioDetect ® med (h-FABP) system has extremely high sensitivity and high specificity for the detection of AMI, gives results in less than 15 minutes from 3-4 drops of whole blood applied in a handy credit card format.

The new CardioDetect ® combi (h-FABP + CTnI) provides a qualitative immunological rapid test for the determination of BOTH heart-specific Fatty Acid-Binding Protein and cardiac Troponin I in whole blood, serum or plasma, thus covering the broad range of time since onset of symptoms.
