The Cholestech L·D·X® System consists of a compact, lightweight (<1 Kg) electronic analyser and a series of unique, single-use disposable cassettes.
The L·D·X® runs a complete lipid profile that includes HDL, Total Cholesterol, Triglycerides and calculated LDL and VLDL cholesterol in less than 5 minutes.
The addition of the combined Lipid and Glucose panel together with the ALT / AST panel provides the healthcare professional the majority of the results needed to manage diabetes.

The L·D·X® is portable, simple to use (operator independent) and provides the same accuracy and precision as large laboratory based analysers. The L·D·X® has been evaluated by the UK Medical Devices Agency (report MDA/95/23) and is CLIA-waived by the FDA.

Applications
- Identification of people at significant risk of cardiovascular disease but who have not developed symptoms by determining risk of CHD- in which the measurement of TC/HDL ratio is of critical importance
- Identification of all people with established cardiovascular disease and offer them comprehensive advice and appropriate treatment to reduce their risks- with particular reference to lipid levels.

Simple Protocol
- Apply whole blood or serum sample (finger prick or venous) to test cassette.
- Insert test cassette into the L·D·X® and press "RUN".
- Test results will be displayed in 5 minutes.
Quality Control materials (liquid/ready to use), printer, carrying case, lancets, capillary sampling devices and workstation.
The L·D·X® system has been fully evaluated in the UK by Government appointed reference laboratories.
